Now, onto bottoms. Because that’s what we do at Wype: we care for them, talk about them, and build products to make them feel better. And this week, something happened that felt big enough to share: our very first TV advert went LIVE!
How We Got Here
Running a TV campaign was one of those things we’d filed under “one day, maybe.” We’re a small brand with a big mission, not exactly hiding a spare TV budget under the sofa.
Then, earlier this year, we entered a competition almost on a whim. Fast-forward a few months and suddenly we were pitching our story to a panel of judges. I was so nervous I realised halfway through that my fly was wide open. True story. Somehow, we still won! (Dream big, kids: apparently open flies don’t kill good ideas.)
Winning meant one thing: a fully funded, national TV spot. And with it, the challenge of explaining Wype to millions of people who’d never heard of us, in just 30 seconds.
Giving Bottoms a Voice
So, what do you do with half a minute and a whole lot of creative pressure?
You let a bum do the talking. Literally.
Our ad features a woman in a workplace bathroom, having a perfectly normal, polite chat with her own bottom. No gimmicks, no cheap gags, just a simple reminder that this part of our body deserves the same everyday care as anywhere else.
Because that’s what bottom care is about: normalising it. Caring for your skin, all your skin, all the way to the bottom, should feel ordinary, acceptable, and maybe even a little bit funny.
Why It Matters
For us, this isn’t just about appearing on TV. It’s about bottoms getting their turn in the spotlight.
Since 2020, we’ve been working to prove that caring for anal and perianal skin isn’t niche, taboo, or “too much information.” It’s basic wellness. It’s comfort. It’s confidence.
This campaign takes that message mainstream. Millions of people across the UK are seeing our bottle, and hearing from the body part itself why it deserves better care.

Making this ad has been a dream for us, and we’re ridiculously proud of how it turned out. We hope you like it, or even love it, or hate it! Just don’t find it boring. That would hurt more than anything.

Well done guys this is great news! It’s a really good idea to get your brand in TV, although I don’t watch much myself there are hundreds of thousands that do, and to bring this into focus is a must! It did make me giggle a little as I can’t imagine talking to my bottom or even telling it it’s welcome! I wish you’d been around 30 years ago when my IBS started, it would have helped no end (pardon the pun). I will never go back to dry loo roll now as Wype, and your team, are my saviours, I love everything about it and I even bought one for my fiancé as I keep raving about it and I wanted him to experience it for himself. I absolutely love Wype and I tell anyone who’ll listen about it and how good it is. Thank you for coming up with an innovative solution to good bottom health. Nice idea but I found the ‘bum’ voice over voice difficult to hear, especially the first line of the dialogue it sounded muffled but good luck, hope it increases your sales!
